Summer Writer’s Studio a success!

This August, eighteen Baltimore students attended WBS’s second annual Summer Writer’s Studio, a week-long sleepaway camp in western Maryland. On Monday, Aug. 12, the kids — along with six instructors — boarded a bus for Mar-Lu-Ridge Camp & Retreat Center. For five days, the students attended intensive fiction and poetry workshops, covering topics such as Summer Writer’s Studio a success!

Second annual student book launch at Evergreen Museum

On May 2nd, WBS’s young writers celebrated publication of their book, Baltimore Triumphs, with a reading at Evergreen Museum & Library. Local children’s author Elisabeth Dahl kicked off the event with introductory remarks, and then students from Thomas Johnson, Margaret Brent, Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, and Baltimore City College high school read their stories, poems, and Second annual student book launch at Evergreen Museum
